Standard LinkStart

To launch a video the standard LinkStart requires the URL to be converted to a command by the ClickView server on the internet. The following steps are carried out:

  1. The URL is opened and a request is sent to the ClickView internet server
  2. The server converts the URL and sends a Java applet to start ClickView Player
  3. The applet is loaded, and it instructs ClickView Player to download the video
  4. ClickView Player starts, downloads the video, and displays it to the user

The client will require ClickView Player to be installed and an active connection to the internet to open a standard LinkStart URL.

How does LinkStart Plus compare?
ClickView LinkStart Plus operates directly from your ClickView Library server. It doesn’t require a connection to the Internet or ClickView Player to be installed on each client. When a ClickView LinkStart Plus URL is opened:

  1. The URL is opened and the request is sent to the ClickView Library Server
  2. The server sends a small version of ClickView Player, which displays the video to the user

ClickView LinkStart Plus does not access the Internet nor does it require the standard ClickView Player to be installed on the client computer.
