Carboxylic Acids
Carboxylic acids are carbon compounds containing polar carboxyl functional groups. Carboxylic acids form strong intermolecular hydrogen bonds and have high boiling points . The hydrogen bonding is also responsible for the high solubility of smaller carboxylic acid molecules in water.
