DIRECTOR’S CHALLENGE
Create a Book Trailer
Create a 90-second book trailer that captures the essence of a book on the Premiers’ Reading Challenge list. Think intrigue over recount. Your video should entice your audience to hunt down the book and read it right now!
Recommended for individual or groups of readers in Year 4-10, but open to all.
OUTSTANDING ACTOR’S CHALLENGE
Perform a Dramatic Reading
Breathe life into a key passage or scene from the page by reading it aloud on camera! You can refer to the pages or learn it off by heart, but remember to be clear and expressive, and keep it under 90 seconds.
This is a great option for individual or multiple students from Foundation to Year 4, but open to all.
CONSTRUCTIVE CRITIC’S CHALLENGE
Book Review – Best or Worst
Film your review of the best – or the worst – book you’ve read for the challenge this year! Whichever you choose, you must be constructive and fair in your criticism. If you loved it, how did it win you over? If you hated it, what would you have changed?
Recommended for individual or pairs of readers in Year 3-7, but open to all.
CREATIVE CHALLENGE
Think Outside the Box
Do you have another idea that you’re just bursting to create and share? Submit your video entry outside of these categories with a brief description at the beginning of your video. The entry itself (without description) should not be longer than 90 seconds.
Open to all readers in all levels.
